As promised, 2010 came with a new version of Text Cleanser. I consider this particular version to be yet another big step forward after the addition of number removal (that [D] marker I mean). I'll see if I can think of any new additions for future versions, but, for now, version 2.7 is all I needed when the app's concept first "came to me".

Version 2.6 of Text Cleanser completes the work started in version 2.5. It's main purpose is to plug the holes left behind in the previous version. But, of course, a few useful additions have also appeared, so the program's functionality is also a bit improved. For those interested in the details, here it goes.

Well, I've postponed this update long enough. My final two wishes for Text Cleanser are now here: version 2.5 remembers the latest texts you've entered (user defined text), it can automatically load the last one and it can also remove digits. How does that work? Here's an example that hopefully will help you understand the "coolness" of this new trick.

I’ve updated Text Cleanser to version 2.4 today. Two small, but important improvements have been made: one to the output text and one to the cleaning engine.
I’m happy to see the application is finally able to do all the things I had in mind when I first started writing the code for it. There still are a few more I want to add, related to the custom string and the ability to store it and “recall” it after restart. Because hey, since you’re able to save the selected checkboxes, why shouldn’t you be able to save the custom string?
Well, anyway, after adding this feature to the application, I’ll be running out of ideas, so suggestions will be very much appreciated. |
