I've been a bit lazy lately and took a bit of time off from releasing any new updates (that doesn't mean I didn't work on them all this time!). Meanwhile, we've started a new year and a new decade, which, hopefully, will be better than the last one. Enough chit-chat though, let's get down to business: Portable Software Updater 2.7 is here with a lot of additions, fixes and GUI changes.
The most obvious addition is, of course, the new pack of programs. Portable Software Updater 2.7 checks over fifty more programs! (Yup, mr. John Haller has been busy lately)
As you probably know, donors are able to use Portable Software Updater as a launcher - an app can be launched after being checked for updates and by using a hotkey. As always, I hate putting too much pressure on people to donate, so for 'regular' users a compromise has been made: a new setting allows you to kill a running app before updating it and run it again, once the procedure is over. So, this way, although it's not recommended, you can run PSU after launching your apps.
Somehow, a nasty bug in the silent installation process got through the past two releases, but it has been fixed, so everything should work flawlessly now.
The GUI suffered the most obvious change... Unfortunately, I had to make it bigger, in order to fit all the new apps. If portable software will keep pooring this way, I'll probably switch from categories to letters (like Go Godmode's GUI). So, don't hesitate to contact me if you have problems because of its size. Since I had more space, I also rearranged the buttons at the bottom of the Settings tab and enlarged the most useful one (Switch to Stealth Mode, of course)
With version 3.0 so close, I'll probably make a few major changes to the app's core, so if there's won't be any serious updates for a while... now you know why. |

Went to see "The Help" and... let's just say it's the best movie I've seen this year. Highly recommended!
