The last application on today's update "spree" list is Portable Software Updater. As you were probably already expecting, the main purpose of this build is to also update the software list. I've said "main" because there are a few, less important, reasons, on which I won't elaborate too much. Anyway, here are the news on this release...

Version 2.2 of PSU adds three more apps to the software list: 2xClient is back (the download link has been fixed a while back) and two more programe have been listed on the portableapps portal: PChat, a full-featured IRC client, and TeamViewer, providing remote PC support and screen-sharing.

Another change I've decided to make in this version is the way local versions are listed. As you surely know, PSU should be placed in the folder containing all portable applications, but you can enter a different location for programs that are not located there. If the app does not locate the app at that location, starting with this version it will also search for it in PSU's folder.

As for really small fixes: the download method has been improved and, after installing an app using silent install (Check&SI), Portable Software Updater will automatically refresh the local and remote versions to reflect the change.

The System Silencer has proved to be one software that has reduced my worries to a great extent. now I can easily control the various background applications and their behavior during idle time. I highly recommend this 'system tool' to control your workstation(s).
